FitsyBaby is an independent buying-guide publisher. We write for the families that mainstream baby-gear lists leave out: parents who are not the average size, homes that are not the average size, and caregivers who do not want another app in their lives.
Why this site exists
Search “best stroller” and you will find thousands of near-identical articles that all assume the same imaginary reader: average height, average build, a sedan with a big trunk, a fast and stable home network, and unlimited patience for setting up cloud accounts.
That reader does not exist. Real families are petite, tall, plus-size, living in small apartments, driving older cars, raising twins, sharing a bedroom with a baby, or looking after grandchildren on a fixed routine. When the gear does not fit the family, the guides have nothing to say.
So we take the opposite approach. Instead of covering everything shallowly, we pick one hard, specific problem at a time and go as deep as the available evidence allows. Three at a time, on purpose:
- Privacy. Monitors that never touch the internet — no app, no cloud account, no monthly fee, nothing a stranger can reach.
- Fit. Carriers, wraps and wearables rated for petite, plus-size, tall and broad-shouldered parents, with the real measurement ranges rather than “one size fits most”.
- Space. Small apartments, small trunks, and the hardest puzzle in car seats: three seats on one bench.
What makes our guides different
We do not claim to have put forty strollers in a lab, because we have not. What we do instead is state exactly how each guide was made, and then do that work thoroughly:
- We work from the specifications that decide the outcome — frequency band, weight limits, installed width, battery behaviour, subscription terms — and we verify them against manufacturer documentation rather than against other articles.
- We read reviews in bulk and sort them by complaint, so you get “signal dropout, 32 mentions” instead of a meaningless 4.3-star average.
- We tell you who should not buy each pick. A recommendation without an exclusion is not a recommendation, it is an advertisement.
- We publish an update log at the foot of every guide, so you can see what changed and when.
How we are funded
This site is funded by affiliate commissions. When you follow a link to a retailer and buy something, that retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you arrive through our link or type the address yourself.
What that money does not buy is a ranking. No brand can pay to be included in a guide, to move up a table, or to have a competitor removed. When we recommend against a product, we say so on the page, in writing, where the brand can read it.
Every monetised page carries a disclosure near the top, and there is a full affiliate disclosure and methodology page if you want the details.
Who this site is for
This site is written for adults — parents, guardians, relatives and professional caregivers. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not operate any feature designed to attract them. Our content deals with products used around infants, so we are careful to write for the adult making the purchase decision.
Getting in touch
Corrections are genuinely welcome. If a specification is wrong, a model has been discontinued, or a recommendation has aged badly, tell us and we will fix it and record the change in the update log.
